Planning an Afternoon Tea, Ladies Brunch, Wedding Shower, or just want to be Fancy?
Me too – I love to host a nice luncheon to spoil the ladies in my life.
We are so glad you are here to see how EASY we created a party on a BUDGET to celebrate our bride to be on her wedding shower day.
First off, as with most of our events, we went Goodwill hunting, looking for a few tea inspired treasures. We picked up several tarnished silver pieces and lots of glass items too.
Would you have polished the silver? I wanted the patina for this party.
For our young bride to be, we took the essence of a traditional tea party and turned it up a notch, creating a parTEA!
Our colors were coral and navy with hints of gold, hot pink, and lavender.
Entrance Detailed Sources:
Custom Printed Sign – available with your guest of honor’s name here.
Faux Cedar Hedge (I have had these FOORRRrever, I found similar ones here. They are terrific for so many events.
EVENT TIP: Use perishables to add the color to your buffets, flowers, food and beverages. Use glass and greenery so you can use over and over again and only store one serving platter v. a copper one, a teal one, a gold one etc.
Acrylic tray on rose gold frame from around the house, a silver tray for mask display from Goodwill, and a huge bottle of sanitizer from CVS.
4*4 frame I spray painted RustOleum’s Copper (looks rose gold) and frame from the dollar store. Printable insert for frames here.

As our guests joined us on the back deck, we had a beverage table to greet them.
Even though we have been in such solitude, we truly enjoyed sharing this day with the people that are the closest to us – outside and socially distanced. This photo is of my daughter, our bride to be and a dear family friend that has been in our “covid circle”.
Love that mirrored bowl? We are IN LOVE with RustOleum’s mirror spray paint. See the simple DIY & more mirrored projects here.
The Round petal table cloth added so much interest to the base of our existing patio table for the beverage station, we just had to have it!
This plexiglass tiered system is amazing – it comes apart so stores easy, lightweight, and does not break! You will see it multiple times in our events, it is so versatile, being clear and module, allows this to fit into most themes.
We used RustOleum Tahiti Blue to spray paint the old tray we transitioned into our iced tea display.
It is so fabulous, a bit of spray paint pops this tray right back to life. The tray was scratched and lost its luster…Now it takes center stage on our beverage table.
Can you believe the coral peachy roses are not live? They are awesome with a plastic-like coating…I purchased from Hobby Lobby and took the greenery away ( I believe that is what makes most faux flowers look FAKE) Then laid them about, making sure I balanced the color around the table.
EVENT TIP: Combine faux flowers (GOOD ones) with real greenery – get’s em everytime ;)!
Antique silver accents and glass service peices resourced from Goodwill or the studio (aka Kristin’s home )
EVENT TIP: Use trays to group your items. We grouped our iced tea station on this large tray. We used the plexiglass stand to group our earl grey marTEAni and a pedestal stand to hold the additional beverages.
This shower was a parTEA, having a MarTEAni as our signature cocktail, a prosecco option, along with an Iced Tea Bar really made the event a bit more fitting for our bride to be.

Event TIP: put theme color pillows on your existing patio furniture.
The wedding shower took place outside, poolside, hosted at our family friend’s home. Mother Nature showed up with a gorgeous day and beautiful temperatures.
We were thrilled to bring this coral color to border each end of the pool – we LOVE the seaglass blue of the pool water and the coral together! The weight of the coral drapes is great and has a beautiful “feel” and “drape”. We found them here.
The white drapes add a stripe effect that we wanted. Very similar in drape, weight and feel as the coral side panels. You can find them here.
Confetti balls and the diamond ring floatie added a touch of whimsey to the celebration. We feel the big bold pops of drapes and the pool floats made this event feel special. You can find the ring float here and the confetti beach balls here. We used 3 packs of the beach balls to add an impact.
On the food buffet we used all the similar peices as on the beverage table.
You can see our printables here.
Large green boxwood orb adds a bold anchor for the table.
Simplify your clean-up efforts, trust us.. we found this amazing set of 30 upscale plastic and rose gold service ware, cups, and plates.

A shower is not complete with at least one game, this is a great ice breaker too when the conversation starts to die down…
If you’re worried the conversation won’t flow as freely as the tea, plan ahead with a fun party game, like Who is the Bride?
Ask the Groom to answer several questions, see below. During the party pass out the printable below with pens and then ask each question out loud and give a moment for all to answer. At the end, go over what the Mr. said as his answers for your bride to be.
I hope you enjoyed this poolside party to celebrate our bride to be. We know your wedding shower will feel just as special as this one.
Cheers, Kristin
